Speak Sighthound
- The Digital Pack

You deserve to have the best bond with your dog, to have fun together and to understand what they are trying to tell you.

In this programme you will learn all of the essentials for being a guardian to a sighthound. I have included all of the most common challenges to support you with, including your dog ignoring you on walks, chasing prey animals, not coming back when called, being unsettled in busy places or at home, overly boisterous play with other dogs and greetings with people.

I will teach you how to read your sighthound’s body language and subtle signals to understand their emotions. You will learn how to use practical techniques using positive reinforcement to strengthen your bond and your dog’s focus.

I’ve worked with thousands of dogs and the steps to creating a calm, focused sighthound and therefore a calm home life and walk are simpler than you think! I’ll show you how.

There’s no need to feel unsure about the best way to train your sighthound using kindness, we’ve got everything you need

Introducing

sPEAK SIGHTHOUND

If you’re wanting proven techniques for strong training connection with your sighthound and so you don’t ever have to feel like you don’t understand them again, then Speak Sighthound is for you and I am so excited to welcome you IN!

LET’S BREAK IT DOWN

THE MODULES

01

FOCUS & ENGAGEMENT

Build your dog’s focus and engagement for a stronger bond with them. In this module we dive into how to use positive reinforcement most effectively with sighthounds and how to set your training up for success, so that your dog wants to pay attention and feel connected with you!

SETTLE

Teach your dog to settle at home and in public in this module. As one of our favourite techniques with unlimited uses, settle training should be a corner stone exercise for every sighthound guardian. Once your dog can master this at home, you can take it to the pub, restaurant, beach, picnic and even the vet!

02
03

RECALL

Strengthen your dog’s recall, the crucial skill for every sighthound to learn to keep them safe – whether they will be let off the lead or not! After this module you will feel confident to progress your dog’s learning through the stages of recall training and know how to manage distractions that your dog doesn’t want to be called away from.

LEAD WALKING

Improve your dog’s lead walking, whether your dog pulls strongly on the lead or suddenly lunges when they spot something moving fast. This module will also help your dog feel more relaxed when they are walking on a lead, as you get confident in gentle lead handling techniques that promote a calmer, happier dog.

04
05

PREY DRIVE

Manage your dog’s prey drive with proven tools to help your dog ignore or quickly disengage from small animals they see on walks or in the garden, such as cats, squirrels, foxes, birds or deer. In this module we tap into your dog’s natural instincts, rather than trying to squash them, by giving them fun outlets to perform the predation behaviours they love in safe, harm-free ways!

SOCIAL SKILLS & PLAY

Read your dog’s body language and learn how to guide their interactions for better social skills with other people and dogs. In this module we dive into how to recognise appropriate play and how to facilitate greetings with other dogs and people so it can go well, every time!

WHAT YOU GET

We feel equipped to support her

“We feel much better equipped now to support our rescue greyhound. We have noticed a tangible difference in Mabel’s behaviour and in our understanding of what’s going on with her and how we can encourage her, not make things worse. Highly recommend.”

Rebecca & Mabel

We now do so much more together!

“I have learnt how to improve our communication, connection and have a greater understanding of Cracker’s and our other greyhound’s needs. New skills, playing games and having fun! Thanks so much Clare”.

Kate & Cracker

He’s much calmer on walks than before

“Becca was brilliant! We are so proud of the progress our whippet has made whilst working with Becca, as well as feeling confident to continue training ourselves. She gave us the skills to be able to read his body language, an understanding of how to manage his stress levels, and training with kindness and compassion. He’s much calmer out on walks. Her knowledge and understanding of sighthounds and their quirks was definitely a huge help. I’d highly recommend Becca!!”
